David Bowie a British music legend. The third coin in the British Music Legends series is dedicated to David Robert Jones, better known as David Bowie. Born in London in 1947, the musician, singer, producer and actor was active for over 40 years.

David Bowie is one of the most successful musicians in rock and pop history. The most famous hits include "Space Oddity", "Hero", "Sailing", and he was also a Freddy Mercury replacement for the Tribute album and sang "Under Pressure". When designing the coin, the Royal Mint used a classic design that shows the artist in a portrait. In the background a lightning bolt and Stars can be seen which refer to the singles Rebel and Black Star.

The words Bowie can still be read under the portrait. On the value side is the portrait of the Queen, as well as the face value and the year of issue.
